Masterblock Technical - Dense Aggregate Products

COMPOSITION & MANUFACTURE
All Masterblock Dense building blocks are manufactured from high quality aggregate and cement on modern automated plants. The high level of quality control exercised at all stages of production ensures compliance with BS 6073 1981.
The blocks also satisfy the special category requirements as laid down in clauses 27.2.1 of BS 5628 part 1 1992 and in BS 6073 part 2 clause 6.2.

FORMAT, STRENGTH & SIZES
Masterblock Dense are available in solid, hollow and cellular format with a standard strength of 7.0 N/mm2 (3.5 N/mm2 – South West). Higher strength blocks to 21.0 N/mm2 are manufactured subject to availabliity.

Widths available

75, 100, 140, 190 & 215mm 150 & 215mm also available in Scotland only (solid)

* Newly available is our 290 x 215 x 140mm block designed to meet manual handling regulations for repetitive lifting.

AUTHORITY
Masterblock is a member of both the British Precast Concrete Federation and the Concrete Block Association. All Masterblock products are manufactured under the quality procedures of BS EN ISO 9002.

EXTERNAL RENDERING
The use of cement/lime/sand mixes is recommended.

INTERNAL PLASTERING
Most dense aggregate blocks provide a moderate to low suction background, therefore Carlite Bonding undercoat plaster or similar should be used.
Sand/cement undercoats may also be used.
